Hi!

Greetings from mid-air!  Yes, by the time you read this Greg and I will be sitting on a plane somewhere over the equator.  Obviously I’m writing this in advance because by the time you guys are reading this newsletter, Greg and I will on our way to sunny Australia!  

Yay! It’s that time of year again when we head back to the other side of the world and visit back home for a turbo charged 3 month visit. We’ve got lots of lovely friends and family to visit and along the way we’ll be squeezing in a few speaking events too!

Coming up we’ve got the super exciting Million Dollar Masterclass Business Transformation week and then in March we’ve got the very special 3-day Presentation Profits Intensive.

With the help of our London team, we spent the weekend packing up our flat and putting items in storage that we’re not going to need for the next 3 months.  We also let the team raid our bookshelves, kitchen cupboards and my wardrobe!  You should have seen their smiles.  I’ve never felt so good at giving away our belongings knowing they were going to a loving home.  

So, the message of this newsletter is of letting go.  We said goodbye to our London friends and also to some of our belongings. It’s been sad but happy at the same time.  What can you let go of this week that no longer serves you?  It could be possessions or even a behaviour.  Only you know.  Remember, what you reap, you sow.

State Changes - Keeping Your Audiences Engaged

  • Every seven minutes you need to elicit a state change in your audience
  • It can be with a MASSAGE, a HIGH FIVE or a turn to your neighbour to say something complimentary and fun
  • In order to know when to do this you can have a reminder on your autocue or just watch your audience's faces for that glazed look.
  • People can only absorb content for so long before they need a shift in state and since you are 'leading your audience' it is your job to
    'lead their state' - otherwise they'll do it themselves!
  • Use state changes to keep your audience alert, focussed, and receptive to your content.

Speaking is a key area in almost every business, be it negotiations, promotions and of course, speaking and selling from stage.

Your Voice Is Your Money-Making Machinery.

Understanding this will make you a truly exceptional speaker with the power to move roomfuls of people AND make you huge sales from your public speaking.  If you’ve ever watched any great speaker, the people that stand out in your mind well after the story has ended are those who create a mood in the space. They convey emotions so powerfully that it takes you on the journey with them.
Interestingly, sales are about the emotional journey too. A big part of being a speaker and taking people on an emotional journey is the use of your voice.   An even bigger part of being a speaker is to make sales.

How Improving Your Voice Will Make You More Memorable, Captivating and Entertaining As A Speaker

There are many great and profitable speakers out there who have never considered how improving their voice could benefit their sales, so that’s where you already have a leg up on them!

Whilst your voice is not the most important thing that will directly impact your sales from your public speaking on the day, it WILL directly impact how memorable, captivating and entertaining you are as a speaker…so think of those referrals and the long-term goals of your business!

In other words, WHY should you consider becoming a vocal artist?
