Hi Troops!

I’m sitting in my sister’s lounge room writing this week’s newsletter in North Fitzroy, Melbourne. It’s the best place in the world as the smell of her baking permeates the room. She is making brownies, lemon polenta cake, chai tea cake… mmmm. You see Kath supplies a few cafes around Melbourne. (Look at the yumminess yourself: www.frankfoodandme.blogspot.com)

Sitting here watching the thriving little business grow and the passion and love she pours into every cake mix, I can’t help but admire her courage. Courage to go out on a limb, do things her way, with her focus o slow food and local farming. And this has become her brand. Despite her doubts and her relative lack of business knowledge, she has educated herself and taken step after step toward her dream business.

Last weekend I was speaking at the “Our Internet Secrets” workshop in Melbourne, and a very prevalent theme was what to do in the face of doubt. So that is the theme of this newsletter… turning doubt into courage.

Today I’m flying off to Los Angeles for a TV interview on a Prime Time TV show with Dr Letitia Wright. Should be fun- but of course, as with anything I have doubts about doing new things. I’ll let you know how it all pans out next week!

Having Courage in the Face of Doubt

What happens when you have doubts in business?

It doesn't matter what sort or business you are in, everybody has doubts at some time or another. The important thing is what you do with those doubts.

Do you act in spite of those doubts?

Do you get committed and take action towards your dreams?

Or are you the kind of person who focuses on your doubts and only thinks of your doubts - getting stuck in your doubts?

Do you get stuck in "inaction" or "paralysis by analysis"?

My tip for you is to stay committed to your dreams and continue to take action.

Every single one of us has doubts every single day, its not about not having doubts, its what you do in the face of those doubts.

Is Your Business in Need of a Turnaround?

Well first, what is “turnaround”? Most people think about a turnaround as a time when a business is attempting to avert bankruptcy or a total demise. We like to think in terms of prevention rather than a cure.

Think of it as a “remodeling” or perhaps a redefining or refining of a business. It can be done anyplace, anytime, or by anyone looking to be a creator of change rather than a victim of circumstance.

We have a proprietary model called “The 10 Day Turnaround”.

Can you really turn your business around in ten days? Could you lose fifty pounds in ten days? Probably not, but in business just as in life you can create a plan for positive change and begin implementing the key steps on your path to progress.

Is your business in need of a turnaround?

First, you need to know the current state of your business.

Ask yourself:

Is my business living up to its potential and performing at the highest level of performance possible?
Is my business providing me all of the intrinsic and extrinsic rewards I desire and deserve?
Am I and is my business recognized as the obvious choice in my market and respected a leader in my industry?

If your answer is “yes” congratulations, you probably only need to refine, reinforce what your currently doing and find way simply to expand on your success. If your answer is “no” then it’s definitely time for a re-tooling, remodeling, or “turnaround”.

Can you do it in ten days? Of course you can if you have the plan and that is what “The 10 Day Turnaround” is all about.
